On the 23rd October, 1964, the buildings at the current site of Mount Beauty Secondary College were officially opened. If you ask many locals, this is definitely not the beginning of the Mount Beauty High School. The buildings were in use before 1964 and there was a Dux for the high school in 1963, however, it has been very hard to get a definite opening or start date.
